This post is inspired by a recent episode of Red Table Talk (S2:E15 – Raised By White Parents: A Black Adoptee Speaks)
Our discussion guide will help your family think and talk about adoption, trans-racial adoption, race, culture, and birth family; challenging us to shift our thinking (and actions) about our personal and global participation in the adoption narrative. You may also use this discussion guide as a launchpad for your personal reflections.
I’m so thankful for Angela’s strength, voice, and humility in this conversation as well as the thoughtful dialogue that was able to take place on such a platform; folks with unique perspectives willingly exchanging ideas and listening, so that our communities can learn, grow and perhaps even heal.
This is a part of a larger discussion and will continue to take place with many others over the course of our lifetimes.
Thank you, Angela Tucker, for your hard and brilliant work with and for the trans-racial adoptee community!
